A joint venture (JV) of CPB Contractors, John Holland and Ghella has been selected by Sydney Metro to build the Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package. Sydney Metro West is to provide a new underground rail link between the city centres of Parramatta and Sydney, at a project cost of €1.04 billion (AU$1.68 billion). The Eastern Tunnelling Package includes a 3.5 km tunnel between the future The Bays and Hunter Street stations in Sydney's city centre, as well as the development of caverns and shafts at Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations. The work is scheduled to start in 2023 and last until 2025.
