Two contracts awarded for construction of NSCR central section

The government of the Philippines has awarded two contracts for construction of the 56 km central section of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) line. The two contracts include the construction of 14 km of viaducts, stations, and tunnels. Contract S02, worth €460 million (PHP 28 billion), involves the construction of an elevated section with three stations, and was awarded to a consortium of Acciona Construction Philippines and DM Consunji. Contract S03B, worth €392.5 million, includes construction works for tunnels and stations, and was awarded to a consortium of Leighton Contractors Asia and First Balfour. The NSCR line will connect Malolos, Bulacan, to Clark International Airport in Pampanga province and Tutuban to Calamba in Laguna province. The Malolos – Clark section is expected to be completed by June 2025, while the NSCR extensions are expected to be completed by 2029.
