Southern Railway to connect 9 towns in Tamil Nadu

Southern Railway, a part of Indian state railway IR, will carry out a feasibility study for the development of a rail connection between nine towns in the state of Tamil Nadu. The nine towns in question are Valparai, Gobichettipalayam, Krishnagiri, Edappadi, Devakottai, Kambam, Dharapuram, Pernampattu and Kallakuruchi. Currently, citizens from these towns have to travel up to 35 km to reach the next major train station, from where they can then travel to major cities such as Chennai.
