São Paulo requests studies on metro network restructuring

The government for the Brazilian state of São Paulo has requested studies to evaluate structural changes to the state capital’s metro network. According to local media reports, private consultancies will present new models of corporate structures for the state-owned company Metro-SP. The study requested by the government may allow for the entry of private partners, the selling of shares on the stock exchange or the sale of subsidiaries. Through a note, Metro-SP confirmed the existence of the study, without going into details, and stated that the contract aims to improve efficiency.
