German railway and plant engineering manufacturer Windhoff has received an order worth €5 million (NOK 58.8 million) from Bybanen Bergen, the operator of the light rail transit (LRT) network in the city of Bergen, for the delivery of a VentuS-LR SF50 grinding vehicle. Delivery of the vehicle is scheduled for 2028. The grinding vehicle will be used for preventive track maintenance on the LRT network. Due to the winter conditions in Bergen, the vehicle will also be equipped with a variable snow plough and overhead line de-icing system.
