Willke wins contract to renew slab track on Oebisfelde – Berlin line

Track construction company Willke, together with construction company Max Bögl, has been awarded a contract worth EUR 75 million to renew the slab track on the Oebisfelde – Berlin line. The project covers around 52 km of double-track line in two lots in the Nahrstedt and Gardelegen areas. The scope of services includes the dismantling of the existing slab track, the renewal of the substructure and the construction of new slab track using the Bögl system. In addition, Rheda system switches will be rebuilt and technical services such as underground cable installation will be provided. The construction period will run from October 2026 to November 2027, with work taking place exclusively at night. The reason for this is damage and abnormalities in the slab track installed in the 1990s, which, according to DB InfraGO, require a complete renewal.
