The Norwegian government has announced the merger of the state-owned railway operators Vy and Flytoget by 2028. Flytoget, which operates the high-speed rail (HSR) line between Drammen, Oslo and Oslo Airport, will become a subsidiary of the Vy Group. Flytoget's licence expires in 2028; the operator's lines will then become part of the overall service. The merger aims to improve public transport in the Östlandet region. An external financial advisor is supporting the merger and has also carried out the valuation of Vy and Flytoget's corporate structure.
