VinSpeed High-Speed Railway Investment and Development JSC (Vingroup) and Siemens Mobility have signed a partnership and framework agreement for the development of a high-speed rail (HSR) network in Vietnam. As the technology partner, Siemens Mobility will supply Velaro Novo high-speed trains (HST), the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 with automated train operation (ATO), as well as telecommunications and electrification systems and maintenance services. Based on this agreement, both parties intend to sign further individual contracts. As a first step, VinSpeed and Siemens will develop two HSR lines: one between Hanoi and Quang Ninh (Ha Long), covering 121 km with four stations, and the other between Ben Thanh and Can Gio, covering 54 km with two stations. All lines will be fully electrified and equipped with ETCS.
