Vietnam is planning an HSR line from China to Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam is planning to expand the standard-gauge line from China to Ho Chi Minh City. The high-speed rail (HSR) line will include five freight stations and 23 passenger stations and will have a total length of 1,541 km, starting at Ngoc Hoi station in Hanoi and ending at Thu Thiem station in Ho Chi Minh City. The project is expected to cost a total of €61.3 billion (US$67.34 billion). Vietnam had previously announced its intention to develop three HSR lines to China. Two existing railway lines in Vietnam will be converted to the Chinese gauge, while a completely new line will be built.
