TRP awarded construction contract for ECWE in Toronto

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx, the transport authority for Toronto and Hamilton, have awarded the Trillium Rail Partners (TRP) consortium the contract to design and build seven stations and install track and systems engineering for the 9.2 km Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE) of Toronto's light rail transit (LRT) network. The contract also includes work on the existing Mount Dennis station to connect it to the future line 5. TRP, which consists of WSP Canada, Amico Major Projects, Alberici Constructors and Acciona Infrastructure Canada, has signed a development and main construction agreement with Metrolinx. The agreement marks the start of the development phase under a design-and-build model. TRP will initially begin preliminary work and further develop the design, risk allocation and pricing in collaboration with Metrolinx.
