The RB Rail project company for the Rail Baltica high-speed rail (HSR) line has announced that a total of three applicants have pre-qualified for the second stage of the tender for the design and construction of the electrification subsystem of the project. The pre-qualified applicants include Cobelec Rail Baltica, consisting of the Spanish companies Cobra Facilities and Services and Elecnor Services and Projects, Alstom-BMGS-GE-Torpol, consisting of the companies BMGS, Alstom, Alstom subsidiary Bombardier Transportation Baltics and GE Energy Power Conversion France, and STC Baltic Electrification, consisting of the companies Colas Rail, Siemens Mobility, Siemens Mobility Latvia and TSO. The two-stage award procedure is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
