Croatian infrastructure operator HZ Infrastruktura has awarded construction company Strabag a €55 million contract to modernise the line between the Slovenian border and Sveti Petar u Šumi in Istria. The work on the 50 km, single-track, non-electrified line includes the renewal of the superstructure and substructure at level crossings and is expected to take three years. In addition, HZ Infrastruktura is preparing a study for the modernisation and electrification of the entire line from the Slovenian border to Pula.
