On the Spanish island of Mallorca, construction has begun on a 1.4 km extension of the metre-gauge metro line from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) to the Bit Technology Park. The line, which runs through undeveloped land, will be realised as a tunnel. Completion is planned for 2025.
