Sateba to supply concrete sleepers to Infrabel over five years

On 17th September 2025, the Belgian subsidiary of French railway infrastructure supplier Sateba and infrastructure operator Infrabel signed a contract for the supply of 15,000 special concrete sleepers for points per year, worth EUR 26 million, with a term of five years and the option of three one-year extensions. The sleepers will be delivered to Infrabel's Bascoup site and used for switch installations. Infrabel replaces around 300,000 sleepers annually and relies on multiple suppliers to mitigate risk. The contract covers up to 170 different sleeper designs for switch bearings. In parallel, there is a separate contract for M41 concrete sleepers worth EUR 55 million until 2029.
