The Australian and South Australian governments have awarded a consortium of contractors McConnell Dowell and CPB Contractors and design consultants Arup, Mott MacDonald and Aurecon the contract to remove three level crossings on the Glenelg Light Rail Transit (LRT) line in Adelaide. The €363 million (AU$600 million) contract includes the removal of the crossings at Marion Road and Cross Road in Plympton, and Morphett Road in Morphettville, as well as the construction of the existing crossing at South Road in Glandore. Construction work is scheduled to begin at the end of 2024 and be completed by the end of 2025. Additionally, new, more accessible LRT stations with improved pedestrian access will be created.
