As part of a railway reform passed by Greek parliament, the new railway company Hellenic Railways Single Member Company SA (OSE) was founded. The new OSE was created through the merger of the former OSE, ErgOSE and GaiaOSE companies. The management positions were filled partially with former employees of the predecessor companies and partially with new people. The aim of the restructuring is to significantly improve the railway sector in line with European standards. One of the first major challenges for the new company will be the legal investigation of the Evangelismos/Tempi accident, for which the predecessor companies ultimately blamed each other.
