On 14th September 2024, Chinese state railway CR announced that the railway network in China has exceeded the 160,000 km mark. High-speed rail (HSR) lines account for around 46,000 km of this. Since 2012, the entire network has grown by 64.2%, and HSR lines have increased by 392.2%.
