On 29th May 2026, Rail Vision signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Railserve regarding the integration of its ShuntingYard obstacle detection and classification system into the YardGuard safety system. Railserve, a subsidiary of Marmon Rail Corporation, launched YardGuard on 2nd June 2026 as a safety and control system for industrial railway yards. The system is designed to enhance safety during shunting operations in depots and industrial railway yards. It comprises six subsystems, including functions for securing level crossings and for automatic brake application in the event of derailments, clearance infringements, obstacles on the track or incorrectly set switches. The two companies had already been collaborating since 2024 on the marketing of ShuntingYard in the US. As part of this collaboration, the AI-based solution, originally designed as a driver assistance system, has evolved into an active system for the semi-automatic control of locomotives. Rail Vision develops optical detection systems in the visible and infrared spectral ranges for shunting and mainline applications.
