Four international and one domestic consortium have been selected by the Rail Baltic Estonia project company to design and construct the Estonian sections of the Rail Baltica high-speed (HSR) line. The contract includes two main contracts. The first contract includes the superstructure for the Tallinn Ülemiste – Pärnu section and the substructure for the Tootsi – Pärnu section, with an estimated cost of €394 million. The second contract includes the complete design and construction of the section from Pärnu to Ikla on the Latvian border, with an estimated cost of €332 million. The total value of the alliance procurement could reach €932 million, including an option for strategic materials purchasing. The first selected consortium is Bouygues Travaux Public, Budimex, Ingerop Conseil et Ingenierie, KMG Infra, and WSP Finland. The second consortium includes GRK's Estonian and Finnish divisions, Merko Ehitus Eesti, NGE Contracting, and Sweco's Finnish and Swedish divisions. The third consortium consists of Leonhard Weiss, INF Infra, Ramboll Danmark, and Skepast & Puhkim. The fourth consortium includes Verston Eesti, GoTrack, Järelpinge Inseneribüroo, and Reaalprojekt, and the fifth consists of Vinci Construction GeoInfrastructure, Trev-2 Grupp, Dodin Campenon Bernard, and Systra. The contracts are expected to be signed in the first half of 2025.
