Spanish railway infrastructure manager Adif has chosen Prointec to carry out a study for the expansion of the conventional Madrid – Extremadura line. The consulting company is to develop the project to adapt the loading gauge for the future electrification of the 25 kV line in the Illescas (Toledo) – Talayuela (Cáceres) section and plan the modernisation of the infrastructure (tracks, rails, sleepers, fastenings and ramps) in nine stations along the line for freight trains up to 750 m long. The contract is worth €3 million.
