In early May 2026, Progress Rail entered into a strategic partnership with Railmonitor to integrate monitoring and predictive analytics solutions into its own railway infrastructure portfolio. The Caterpillar subsidiary is integrating the sensors and cloud applications developed by the Danish start-up to monitor the condition of points, other track components and civil engineering structures in real time. Using the sensor data, the system generates condition information, triggers alarms where necessary and detects wear patterns before failure occurs. This supports the transition from time-based to condition-based and predictive maintenance.
