PKP PLK tenders new Podleze – Gdów railway line in Malopolska

Polish infrastructure manager PKP PLK has published a tender for the construction of a new double-tracked and electrified railway line between Podleze and Gdów in Malopolska. The project, with an estimated value of €546.6 million, is to be completed by 2029. The plans include 34 bridges and viaducts, a 900 m tunnel and 33 grade-separated crossings. Passenger trains will be able to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h, while freight trains will travel at up to 120 km/h. The new connection will reduce the travel time between Gdów and Kraków to under 30 minutes. The line will be connected to the existing E30 main railway line and will include new stations and stops.
