Polish infrastructure operator PKP PLK has secured EU funding for the development of railway infrastructure and is planning to put contracts worth around €328 million (PLN 1.4 billion) out to tender in the fourth quarter of 2025 (Q4/2025). Strategic railway projects are being carried out in several regions of Poland as part of the FEnIKS programme. In Wroclaw, a comprehensive modernisation of the line between Psie Pole and Soltysowice is planned. In Silesia, the line between Tychy and Bierun Stary will be modernised to increase train speeds to up to 120 km/h. In Torun, the infrastructure will be improved as part of the BiT City II project, including the modernisation of the line between Torun Glówny and Torun Wschodni as well as the Ernest Malinowski Bridge.
