Polish utility company PGE has received a €233 million (PLN 1 billion) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to modernise the electricity systems for the country's railway network. This 18-year loan represents the EIB's sixth contract with the Group, which currently benefits from credit lines with the bank totalling over €1.3 billion. The agreement covers the construction of 43 electrical substations and the modernisation of 24 substations. In addition, the agreement includes the construction of high and medium-voltage lines as well as accompanying infrastructure for the efficient supply of electricity to the domestic railway network.
