The 125 km long high-speed rail (HSR) line from Chizhou to Huangshan was put into operation on 26th April 2024. The line, which can be travelled at speeds of up to 350 km/h, is part of the national development strategy for HSR, which envisages a network of eight vertical and eight horizontal links. Construction of the line with 34 tunnels and 55 bridges began in December 2019. Two new railway stations were built and the junction in Chizhou was expanded. At the start, 24 high-speed trains (HSTs) will run daily in each direction. In the future, the service is to be adjusted in line with demand.
