Austrian state railway ÖBB has started the modernisation and electrification project for the Traisentalbahn railway line. ÖBB is investing a total of €138 million in the line by 2027 to make it future-proof. The measures include electrification, disabled-accessible expansion, modernisation of stations and stops, and renewal of tracks. In addition, Park&Ride and Bike&Ride facilities will be redesigned, while the number of level crossings will either be reduced or their safety improved. The construction work is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
