Ministry of Transport plans quadruple-track expansion of Gdansk – Tczew line

The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure is planning to expand a railway line south of Gdansk in the direction of the Tczew railway junction to quadruple-track. The expansion of the line is intended to separate rail freight transport from passenger rail transport. The construction is part of a broader plan to modernise the railway infrastructure between Gdansk and Tczew. The fourth track is to be built between Pruszcz Gdanski and Pszczólki. The additional track would provide an exit from the port of Gdansk over a distance of 8.5 km. Construction is planned for 2029 and 2030. However, it could prove challenging, as not all viaducts have enough space for an additional track, so these would also need to be expanded.
