The project company Rail Baltic Estonia has commissioned a joint venture of the construction companies Merko Ehitus Eesti and GRK Eesti to build a 10.5 km section of the Rail Baltica high-speed rail (HSR) line in the Harju region. The contract is worth €59.9 million. The section is scheduled for completion by August 2028. The work includes the construction of crossings, bridges, ecoducts, and noise barriers, as well as the Rail Baltica Saku stop and Kurtna railway station. With this contract, a total of 70 km of the Rail Baltica main line is under construction in Estonia.
