The construction company Max Bögl and the Chinese company Sichuan Development Maglev Technologies have signed a cooperation agreement for the construction of further maglev railway lines. Max Bögl had previously finished a project with Xinzhu Road & Bridge Machinery Co. Ltd. to build a demonstration line for the Transport System Bögl (TSB) maglev railway. The project had been running since 2018 and included the construction of a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and the delivery of a vehicle built at the Max Bögl site in Sengenthal, Germany. The vehicle was used to set speed records for maglev trains in regional passenger rail transport of 169 km/h and 181 km/h in April 2021 and April 2024 respectively. Sichuan Development Maglev Technologies and Xinzhu Road & Bridge Machinery Co. Ltd. are both subsidiaries of the Sichuan Development Holding Group.
