Lankhorst presents composite sleeper with base plate connections at InnoTrans 2024

Dutch company Lankhorst Engineered Products is planning to present the world's first composite sleeper with integrated, moulded baseplate connections at InnoTrans 2024. With the KLP Hybrid Polymer Sleeper Type 104, Lankhorst has developed a solution that eliminates the need for on-site machining of base plates and thus simplifies the installation of composite sleepers. The sleeper consists of a ductile polymer with embedded steel rods. The fixings are integrated into the moulded sleeper geometry. According to Lankhorst, the ability to mould the sleeper allows the company to explore different sleeper designs.
