From 2026, MABA Concrete Solutions of Kirchdorfer Group will produce a total of 10,637 track support slabs for the slab track of the Semmering Base Tunnel on behalf of the Porr and Rhomberg Sersa Rail consortium. The precast elements will be manufactured at the Wöllersdorf plant and delivered via the plant's own railway connection to the approximately 27 km long tunnel section between Gloggnitz and Mürzzuschlag. The Semmering Base Tunnel, part of the Baltic Sea-Adriatic Corridor, is expected to reduce the travel time between Vienna and Graz to less than two hours from 2030. The tunnel breakthrough took place in 2024.
