The JTrain consortium, consisting of operator Dan Bus and construction companies Denya Cebus and Comsa, has been awarded a public-private partnership contract to build, operate, maintain, and finance the Blue Light Rail Transit (LRT) line in Jerusalem. The €2 billion (ILS 9 billion) line will run from Gilo and Talpiot in southern Jerusalem to Ramat Eshkol and Ramot in northern Jerusalem. The contract includes operation of the line for seven years with an 18-year extension option and a maintenance contract for 25 years. The line will have 53 stations, including three underground, and is scheduled to open between 2028 and 2030. A Polish manufacturer will supply 132 light rail vehicles (LRVs) for the line.
