Jernbanedirektoratet to prepare strategy to reduce CO2 from maintenance

The Norwegian railway directorate Jernbanedirektoratet has been assigned by the Ministry of Transport to prepare a strategy for reducing the CO2 emissions of Norwegian railway maintenance machines up to 2030 and 2060. The assessment must be completed by mid-2023. The request for information (RFI) is addressed to manufacturers of working machines. The main objective of the RFI is to obtain qualified key figures that can be used in a socio-economic analysis. The figures are to be used for calculations and comparisons of costs in the procurement, operation, and maintenance of working machines. In addition, Jernbanedirektoratet requests information on different categories of vehicles and their energy solutions that may be relevant for the future due to technological maturity, suitability, and costs. The market dialogue is not part of the procurement process and is therefore not subject to public procurement rules.
