Infrastructure budget for 2023 increased

The Czech Ministry of Transport's infrastructure budget for 2023 has been increased by €1.1 billion compared to the presentation of the budget in June 2022, rising to €6.1 billion. €1.2 billion of the budget will be secured by a loan from the European Investment Bank and, following a pending amendment to the law, also by bonds from the State Infrastructure Fund (SFDI). The structure and parameters of this financing will be submitted to the government for approval. The contribution from European sources for 2023 will total €1.1 billion. Of the total budget, €2.9 billion will be used for railway management, namely for the modernisation of the line from Prague to Kladno, for railway infrastructure and for the preparation of high-speed rail (HSR) lines.
