CPK, the Polish organiser of the project of the same name, has signed a contract with Spanish engineering firm Ineco for technical consulting on the planning and construction of the high-speed rail (HSR) line. The contract is for four years and is worth around €470,000 (PLN 2 million). The contract includes specialised technical consultations on solutions used in HSR projects, such as the construction of long tunnels, the implementation of the 25 kV 50 Hz AC power supply system, and certification of lines. According to CPK's assumptions, the Warsaw – Lodz section will be built and put into operation by 2032, which coincides with the transfer of air transport to the new CPK airport. The remaining sections of the Y-shaped network, i.e. Lodz – Wroclaw and Sieradz – Poznan, will be built by 2035. This will result in a total of around 480 km of new HSR lines. At the same time, an analysis of the proposed railway corridors is being carried out by CPK, the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and network operator PKP PLK. The analyses are scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025.
