Croatian infrastructure operator HZ Infrastruktura has invited tenders for the construction work to modernise the 83 km Dugo Selo – Novska railway line as part of the TEN-T Corridor X. The contract, estimated at €620 million, is co-financed by the EU through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding programme as well as the Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme. The project comprises the modernisation of the existing line and the double-track expansion. This includes the reconstruction of railway stations, the conversion of some stops into stations or junctions, the closure of level crossings, as well as the installation of new transport control and signalling systems. Once completed, the line is planned to enable speeds of up to 160 km/h. The deadline for submitting bids is 8th April 2025. The construction work will take 5 years from the date of start of the work by the contractor.
