Government invests €117 million in modernisation of Nadodrzanka line

Poland is investing €117 million in modernising the 300 km Nadodrzanka railway line connecting Silesia with the Baltic Sea ports of Szczecin and Swinoujscie. The aim is to increase line speed and capacity. Once the work is complete, freight trains will be able to travel at speeds of up to 100 km/h and passenger trains at up to 160 km/h. Infrastructure operator PKP PLK had already completed a €350 million modernisation project in 2024, which included the renewal of 100 km of track, overhead lines and points, as well as the renovation of bridges and viaducts. In addition, a new container terminal is being built in the Szczecin/Swinoujscie port complex, with the construction contract signed in April 2025.
