The Polish government has approved the W41 variant as the preferred option for the high-speed rail (HSR) line CPK Airport – Plock – Wloclawek. The selection was made after a technical and economic environmental study lasting several months and took into account predicted passenger flows. The approx. 150 km long line could be completed after 2035. Variant W41 received the highest rating in the multi-criteria analysis and is characterised by the lowest number of developed properties that would have to be acquired for project implementation, the lowest impact on built-up areas, and the least disruption to ecologically significant areas. The line will be part of the North-Central Main Line and the TEN-T Trans-European Transport Network. As a section of the TEN-T network, the line could be eligible for European Union funding. The work is being carried out by a consortium of IDOM Engineering, Architecture and Consulting, BBF, and Arcadis.
