The UK innovation board GBRX is developing an action plan for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in rail transport to improve operations, safety, infrastructure management and passenger experience. A team of experts led by Catriona Campbell (EY) is examining how the railway sector can benefit from the experience of other industries. Campbell sees great potential in using AI in a safe, structured and scalable way. The action plan is scheduled for publication at the end of 2025.
