Turkey has secured €2.4 billion (US$2.8 billion) in green financing for the construction of the 223.6 km Kars – Igdir – Aralik – Dilucu main line, which will provide a direct link to the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan via the Dilucu border crossing. The project includes six stations, five tunnels and 157 bridges. The financing is provided through an agreement with a lending group led by Japan's MUFG Bank, supported by the export credit agencies EKN (Sweden), OeKB (Austria) and the Islamic Development Bank.
