On 31st October 2024, the Chinese Ministry of Transport announced that the country's integrated transport network had been expanded to over 6 million km. Completed extensions included the high-speed rail (HSR) line between Beijing and Zhangjiakou, where Fuxing high-speed trains (HST) were put into operation. In 2023, 61.3 billion interregional trips were made in China. The electrification rate of the Chinese railway network is currently 75.2%.
