On 28th August 2025, Austrian energy company European Trans Energy (Europten) took delivery of the HTW 100 E3 hybrid tower wagon, developed in collaboration with Plasser & Theurer. It is the first hybrid vehicle of its kind in Austria for fully electric and emission-free construction site operation. The HTW 100 E3 combines diesel and electric drive with an innovative battery system and enables quiet operation during overhead line work. The handover took place at Plasser & Theurer. Europten had previously rented the wagon several times and implemented technical improvements together with the manufacturer. A total of 21 machines have already been purchased from Plasser & Theurer as part of the collaboration.
