The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) state-owned railway company Etihad Rail has been awarded the contract for the planning and construction of a new line between the main line of the UAE network and the passenger rail station in Sharjah. The contract was signed at the beginning of March 2024. The new line will not only improve connections between residential areas in the UAE but will also facilitate passenger rail transport between stations across the network.
