On 19th June 2026, the European Commission (EC) published a call for proposals for the development and modernisation of the transport infrastructure within the trans-European transport network TEN-T. A total of EUR 1.1 billion from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding programme is available for this final call under the 2021-2027 multi-annual EU budget. Key areas of focus include rail transport, the decarbonisation of maritime transport and military mobility. According to the EC, the selected projects are intended to support the EU’s high-speed rail (HSR) plan, the industrial action plan for the European automotive sector and maritime connectivity, as well as to eliminate bottlenecks in military mobility. Ukraine and Moldova are also included in the call for proposals. The deadline for applications is 6th October 2026.
