The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has committed a €30 million loan to Albanian state railway HSH for the reconstruction of the 33.5 km Durres – Rrogozhine line. The project includes the reconstruction and electrification of the line and the renovation of the station buildings. The financing complements another €30 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and €60 million in grants and technical assistance from EU funds under the Western Balkans Investment Framework. The line is part of the TEN-T corridor between the Western Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean and will be Albania's first railway link to North Macedonia.
