Croatian Transport Minister Zarko Tusek and HZ Infrastruktura CEO Ivan Krsic have announced that the Dugo Selo – Krizevci modernisation project will be completed by the end of 2025. The 38.2 km project involves the reconstruction of the existing line and the construction of a second track. The Dugo Selo – Vrbovec section is already connected. The double-track line is to be completed by 2025, with the remaining work on the Dugo Selo station to be completed by April 2026. The project will cost €193.4 million and is co-financed by EU funds. Once completed, trains will be able to travel at 160 km/h. Croatia is planning to invest €1.7 billion in railway projects by 2035 and to launch 130 new trains by 2032.
