On 13th June 2025, the US District Court in Delaware dismissed all antitrust claims against the merger of Wabtec and GE Transportation. The court found that no harmful effects of the merger on competition had been proven and dismissed further antitrust allegations. However, Wabtec's motion to dismiss the lawsuit for alleged breach of contract and other claims was not granted. The lawsuit was filed in September 2023 by Progress Rail, a subsidiary of Caterpillar. It had claimed that Wabtec's acquisition of GE in 2019 had shifted the competitive balance in favour of Wabtec.
