DB reorganises management of Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart S-Bahn companies

German state railway DB has announced new appointments to management positions at the Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart suburban rail (S-Bahn) operating companies. Heiko Büttner will take over as CEO of S-Bahn Berlin on 1st April 2026, succeeding acting CEO Karsten Preißel. Büttner will also relinquish his role as DB Group Representative for Bavaria. Matthias Glaub will become the new Chair of S-Bahn Munich, replacing Büttner. He comes from S-Bahn Stuttgart, where he has been Managing Director since autumn 2024. In Stuttgart, Nina Hutwagner will take over as Chair of the Management Board of the S-Bahn suburban rail company, succeeding Glaub, most recently responsible for timetable and transport management at DB Fernverkehr. DB Regio has also reorganised its regional management. Heike Junge-Latz will become Chair of the Baden-Württemberg regional management team, while Markus Kaupper will move to North Rhine-Westphalia as regional manager, succeeding Frederik Ley, who has been appointed to the Executive Board of DB Regio Straße.
