DB InfraGO has started a dialogue with the railway industry on adjusting the schedule for modernising corridors on heavily used sections of track. The aim is to review the current schedule in cooperation with rail transport operating companies, associations and federal states and to make adjustments as necessary. The industry forum is to draw up an adjusted proposal for extending the renovations until 2035. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for 9th July 2025. The consolidated proposal will be submitted to the Federal Ministry of Transport in order to coordinate the final strategy with the federal government. The general renovation of the Riedbahn line was the pilot project, and the renewal of the Hamburg – Berlin line will begin on 1st August 2025.
