CRRC Changchun has unveiled the 600 km/h prototype of a superconducting EDS-Maglev magnetic levitation train. Development began in January 2020, and the prototype was unveiled in July 2024. The vehicle recently achieved a speed record of 650 km/h. The EDS-Maglev uses electromagnetic forces for stable levitation and achieves a levitation height of 100 mm. The train is designed for speeds of up to 600 km/h and features a self-stabilizing levitation system. Construction of a 200 m test track is underway to verify the design and make adjustments.
